Q: Does WinShape Retreat offer pastor getaways?
A. Absolutely! We love to minister to pastors and help them find spiritual refreshment and restoration. Pastors and their spouses are welcome to attend our Refresh & Renew Retreat. Visit our Leadership Retreats page for more information and call 877-977-3873 for reservations.
Q: What amenities are provided in each WinShape Retreat room?
A. All of our king-size rooms are fully stocked with linens, an alarm clock, private bathroom with shower and dual-sink vanity, hair dryer, facial and bath soap, body lotion, shampoo, bottled water, iron and ironing board, and a Bible. We offer media-free rooms without TVs or telephones to promote a truly sequestered environment free from common distractions.
Q. Is smoking or alcohol permitted on the grounds of WinShape Retreat?
A. Alcohol, cigarettes and other smoking devices, and firearms are not permitted on the property.
Q. Are cell phones allowed on the grounds of WinShape Retreat?
A. Yes; however, we ask that guests limit cell phone usage as much as possible and keep ringers turned off to respect the retreat experience.
Q. What kinds of groups can come to WinShape Retreat?
A. We love the opportunity to host different kinds of groups at WinShape Retreat. Ministry groups, corporate teams, couples and nonprofit organizations are all welcome. We also offer customized programs through WinShape Teams. However, we have a process in place to review each request to ensure the program content is consistent with our philosophies and values. We look forward to helping you find the perfect retreat experience for your group.
Q. Are children allowed at WinShape Retreat?
A. We love kids, but we believe our retreat environment is best suited for adults. Therefore, no infants or children under the age of 18 are permitted.
Q. Can we get married and host our reception at WinShape Retreat?
A. Though WinShape Retreat does not host weddings or receptions on the property, we love connecting engaged and married couples to opportunities to grow together through our Marriage Retreat programs.
Q. Can I set up an appointment to tour the retreat grounds?
A. We would love to show you around our expansive property. Tours are available Monday through Friday by appointment only, except during summer months. Please call 877-977-3873 or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule your tour.
Q. Is WinShape Retreat open during the summer months when WinShape Camps are in session?
A. Yes; however, only certain areas of the grounds are open. WinShape Camps uses the retreat facilities from mid-May to mid-August. While camp is in session, WinShape Retreat’s accommodations are limited to The Normandy Inn, where WinShape Marriage Intensives and group events take place as scheduled. The Normandy Inn has fourteen king-size rooms to accommodate guests.
Q. Can we purchase meals?
A. Our delicious, southern-inspired meals are provided for groups and individuals as part of the total retreat package, and costs reflect the type of food served and the number of people dining. Our dining facility does not operate like a restaurant, though we can make accommodations for dietary restrictions. Let us know if you have restrictions or certain needs when you make your reservation so we can prepare ahead of time.
Q. Can we bring a day group and eat meals without spending the night?
A. Yes, we welcome groups of any size that would like to come just for the day. To reserve meeting spaces and meals in advance, call 877-977-3873 (toll free).
Q. What should I pack for my retreat?
A. We recommend packing comfortable clothing and walking shoes so you can enjoy the surrounding 27,000 acres of wilderness. In cool months, it’s best to dress in layers. Bring closed-toe shoes if you plan to participate in an experiential learning or team building activity.
Q. Which credit cards are accepted?
A. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.
Q. Is a deposit required?
A. For a group reservation, 35% of the total anticipated charges are due in advance of the event. For individual reservations, we require a credit card number and full payment when making the reservation.
Q. Are there accessible rooms or elevators?
A. Accessible rooms are located on the first floor, but stairs are needed to reach second floor rooms, and there are no elevators.
Q. Is there any special equipment needed for the experiential learning?
A. No, all special equipment will be provided. Be sure to bring comfortable, closed-toe shoes and suitable clothing for moderate physical activity.
Q. What specific physical limitations would prevent someone from considering experiential learning?
A. If you can walk, you can participate in the initial activities at a minimum (many pregnant women are able to do so). We never force anyone to go beyond their abilities, and every achievement is celebrated as a victory.
